Five Favorite Game of Thrones Scenes

It's all about dragons and speeches

Since I know everyone is counting down the days, minutes and seconds till Game of Thrones returns I thought it would be fun to relive some of the greatest scenes in the five seasons of thrones.

This is not precisely a list of the most “magnificent” or “significant” scenes. Just some of my favorite moments

Spoilers ahead… [duh it is GoT after all]

SER BARRISTAN SELMY, YOU ARE FIRED

Forcing someone into early retirement? Not cool

Barristan Selmy was probably the most respected Knight of the King’s Guard in Westeros. Even Jamie Lannister expressed his respect for him [which was not reciprocated]. So, what does Joffrey do? Well he tells him he is too old to serve him and dismisses him to make room for his uncle. Barristan is infuriated and proclaims “I am a Knight, I shall die a Knight”. After no-one dares to apprehend him, he leaves Westeros to eventually join the true monarch: Daenerys. But this is the scene that starts it all.

TYRION’S SPEECH

Things that make you wish you committed murder…

This list could easily be all Tyrion. Seriously, so many to choose from: Tyrion slaps Joffrey, Tyrion slaps Joffrey again, Tyrion talks to Oberyn, Tyrion inspires the troops, Tyrion kills Tywin, etc. etc. But this one is my absolute favourite.

 DRACARYS

Things don’t end well for men who disrespect women [especially when they have dragons]

If I ever saw a “hell-yeah” scene. Girl power… [or #dragonpower I guess]

 DROGO’S SPEECH

Invading cities never sounded so appealing, it’s all about delivery

I clearly like speeches, and this one was very… hmm inspiring. Daenerys certainly looks inspired. And yes, I would totally follow Khal Drogo to war.

Asavvasoon!

TYRION SEES A DRAGON FOR THE FIRST TIME

Jorah and Tyrion's roadtrip

Another Tyrion scene, sorry can’t help myself. I love this one because it has such an emotional component and feels like such a significant moment. And if we believe popular fan theories, this scene is foreshadowing very important events to come.
